Red Dots On Roof Of Mouth And Sore Throat

BIKE OPTIMAL

This summer I'm forced to ride on a cruiser style bike with one speed. The reason in the beginning was purely aesthetic, but there was also the fact that I hate walking around with all the tools needed to repair a derailleur and brake cables. Mechano equal paranoid sometimes! A bicycle with one gear provides a disadvantage when one is faced with a steep slope or a headwind. This requires that the bike is optimal to offer the least rolling resistance possible.

The following tips apply to all bikes, not just cruisers, to make your trips more pleasant and therefore by extension many more.
  1. TIRE PRESSURE: Equip yourself with a floor pump with pressure gauge and check the pressure of your tires regularly. The tubes are porous and you always lose a little air. A tire inflated to the proper pressure makes a difference!
  2. Ball bearings: Ball bearings concerned with minimizing the rolling resistance. Check if they are well greased the wheels turning freely to see if they turn without resistance. Made the same test with the pedal by removing the chain and turning the pedals and see if there is no resistance.
  3. GREASE YOUR CHAIN: As simple as it sounds, a well lubricated chain can steal energy. Clean and lubricate it regularly.
  4. Y'A GMT KEKCHOSE rubbing?: If you have a brake shoe constantly glued to the rim of a wheel, you pedal hard for nothing! Again, turn your wheel to see if the brake shoes do not rub on the rim. Also check if the wheel is installed in the frame. A tire rubbing on the frame is also a huge power robber.
  5. THE POSITION OF SEAT: How many times I saw a guy pedaling with the knees that are going to the sides? Too often. That abyss knees and it's not the best way to pedal. Adjust your seat to the proper height. Place your heel on the pedal qui pointe vers le bas.
Maintaining your bike is more than just preserve it, it also helps make your trips more enjoyable. A bike is more fun to drive, the more you use.

Till next time.

Gerald:)
