How Much Do I Dilute Green Soap For Tattoos

Mailbag

I thought I would share with you correspondence other readers and hope that their questions and my answers can help other cyclists like you. Well then here we go:

"I got this bike (photo velo_entier.jpg) and I wanted to renovate it a bit.
It apparently dates from the 20s, but was not well maintained (it
be seen), and apparently it was repainted fairly rough.

I'm currently stuck at two locations in dismantling:

1: fork

I unscrewed the tie rod, but for now I dare not type
over fear of twisting (photo tige_guidon.jpg).
I then unscrewed the first bolt (photo vis_guidon.jpg)
then a second, which is concealed in the bearings (
roulements_guidon.jpg photo), I find myself with what you can see in the picture
guidon_actuel.jpg. The penetrating oil has been very helpful
for all that!
(For the anecdotes, the balls (twenty) are not in a ring
but "free")
I tried to separate the handle of the fork by forcing
a bit but without success, I think Rust has made its nest ...

What do you advise me? screw the rod and type?

2: BB

You can see the left pedal in the photo pedale.jpg
How to remove the element indicated in red? type or does it unscrew?
What is called and how the element indicated in blue?
is a kind of small joystick that can move ...

I hope you can help me in any case thank you for your blogs!

Julien "

Hello Julien,

Pretty nice your old lady. For the handlebars, will have to tighten the stem, leaving one end about 2 cm out and firmly tap it to bring down the locking bolt inside. I hope for you that is not too rusty. Regarding the element highlighted in blue, this is a point lubrication of the bearing bracket. The item in red may be removed by tapping firmly with a good hammer while the pedal is at 6 o'clock position. Ask me why, just that it works like that. Injected oil bolt or nut release within an hour this gizmo before tapping it. If it does not work, your only option is to cut the part with the threads and used a drill to get it out. Good luck and keep me posted. Gerald:)

Julian managed to remove the fork, but is still struggling and still to remove the pedals.
