HOW TO CHANGE A STRING OF BIKE, A VIDEO ON THE SUBJECT .. .

I filmed this short documentary to help you to change your bike chain. The tool for removing a chain can be purchased at a bike shop and will be one of your best investments. Always keep it lubricated and make you long service. Change the chain of his bike is not quite rocket science as you will see.

Another video I made on the subject last year but without words.

How Much Do I Dilute Green Soap

RIDE CUSTOM MOVEMENT EMERGING.

Need individuality or necessitated by lack of funds, the custom bike increasingly take place in the world of cycling. The reasons for its presence are manifold, but logical. With the high costs of having a car "toy", some people simply can not afford this kind of hobby. For cons, the bike is once again offering the opportunity of this moved so original at very low cost.

Often the main need of a custom bike enthusiast is to build the machine itself. The tools and pieces being affordable, the possibilities are almost limitless. Besides the fact that not needing to register or provide called modified bike, it implies no restrictions on modifications that might be condemned by an inspection zeal! Imagination has no limits, it is good enough to work to achieve the goal. The extreme example of this kind of bike are Eric Hannan Choppers Boucherville. These bikes are an ultimate expression of human-powered. They often attract more attention than their motorized portion cons when parked side by side. I am a witness!

From the extreme of Hannan Choppers, through the Lowriders and Beach Cruiser well polished, the other side of the coin is represented by the Rat Bike. These bikes focus on the importance to ride in comfort and finish the job when the time and parts permit. The aesthetic quality is not an absolute value in this case, it may show up later or never.

Here in America, the movement of custom bike begins to know its boom in the USA in recent years. In Canada the movement is healthy on the West Coast but seems to fly the kite on the East Coast. What is surprising is the force that knows the movement in Europe. Although access to American cycling vintage is almost nonexistent, clubs and custom bikes are increasing and there seems to be no slowdown in sight. According to my information, sales of bicycles Felt and Electra (to name a few) are in top form in Europe. Have a look on Custom Brigade to see what I mean. :)

I sincerely believe that the chance to ride a bike customized inexpensively to express his individuality will be that the movement will only grow. For people in the Montreal area who would come together, leave me a note at: xddorox (a) gmail.com There are several custom bike fans in Montreal and it would be pretty cool to ride Overall, do things and why not a show!

Where Does Brent Corrigan Live

CCM Bike Dame in 1950, it is all mine! The search engine

This is not an article to show you how to fix anything at all. No, just a short article to share with you the new bike in my small collection. My friend Louis contacted me two days ago whether I wanted an old lady CCM for 40 or 50 years absolutely gratos? Two nanoseconds of reflection was needed to find the answer, YES!

I determined the year of manufacture with the serial code I found on TLC this site . I do not know if the series goes the same way after 1960, so if someone has the answer to this question, do not be shy to tell us.

I love the curve accentuated framework that allows a woman to be able to straddle the bike in spite of a great dress. Although this bike was manufactured in 1950, it is the same design that was developed in the late 19th century and which has enabled women of the time able to move freely at high speed. This new mobility was an important part in the emancipation of women in the late 19th and early 20th century.

I have no predetermined plan for this bike now, but I desire to keep the original finish and I have to replace the wheels that are at the end of their useful life.

UPDATE:

Good eh bin there, I almost finished the restoration of TLC. I miss him a beacon for before I receive it soon. I rebuilt the wheels with rims modern 26 ', while keeping the original hubs. It's more a custom than a true restoration job, but it makes me happy. It rolls pretty well:)

Several you, like me, have suffered from endless research on the internet to find information on the bike. Commercial sites often have the upper hand with sites optimized for search engines and the information is true long to find. Finish this mess! I made a search engine with the help of a new utility from Google that allows me to limit the search only to sites that I include in my list. I included this blog of course and other sites francophones bike that I frequent. If you believe a site or blog deserves to be included in the list in this search engine, send me the link to xddorox (at) gmail.com. Good research

HOW TO PREVENT THE THEFT OF HIS BIKE RIDE ON HOW

One of the most disgusting things that can happen to a cyclist is to get his bike stolen. Its been seriously ill to be stolen his horse. Here are some tips to help you prevent this kind of thing.

The first obvious thing to do is steer his bike when he is out of range of your sight. PAF and 30 seconds!, The beautiful BECÍK disappeared. Take the trouble to steer, even if only to walk into a store 5 minutes.

Choosing your lock is also important. A padlock used to secure your bike for a few minutes will probably not matter to let the sight of all on the sidewalk overnight. A better system needed, the padlock to $ 20 in Canadian U kekchose will not matter at all. At the other extreme, there is the super indestructible chain lock for the modest sum of $ 200. Such protection can be purchased at lower prices, is how. Proceed at your favorite hardware store and get the chain 5 / 16 inches tested 4700lbs resistance. 1 meter should cost around $ 12. Then, get a lock of industrial quality as one in the picture, about $ 27. For less than $ 40, you have the equivalent of the super lock. You simply lack a cover of fabric or plastic to avoid damaging the finish of your bike and that, anyone can make one. The only downside to this super protection is its weight, 2kg. We can not have everything! The U-lock not too expensive with circular lock are very vulnerable to locksmith tools or just a pen!

The quality of your lock is useless if you cross it to a fixture or removable soft. The trees are cut and posts signs can be debunked on the occasion. Choose your fixture with caution and make sure your bike is in full view of people. Place the lock lock your height so that the thief can not conceal his actions near the ground. Nobody questions that someone is squatting working on a padlock. The main strategy is to place more pitfalls to the thief that he should take more time to steal your bike or go to a victim less well protected. Thieves are always looking for easy prey, do not become the prey. At the next

Red Dots On Roof Of Mouth And Sore Throat

BIKE OPTIMAL

This summer I'm forced to ride on a cruiser style bike with one speed. The reason in the beginning was purely aesthetic, but there was also the fact that I hate walking around with all the tools needed to repair a derailleur and brake cables. Mechano equal paranoid sometimes! A bicycle with one gear provides a disadvantage when one is faced with a steep slope or a headwind. This requires that the bike is optimal to offer the least rolling resistance possible.

The following tips apply to all bikes, not just cruisers, to make your trips more pleasant and therefore by extension many more.
  1. TIRE PRESSURE: Equip yourself with a floor pump with pressure gauge and check the pressure of your tires regularly. The tubes are porous and you always lose a little air. A tire inflated to the proper pressure makes a difference!
  2. Ball bearings: Ball bearings concerned with minimizing the rolling resistance. Check if they are well greased the wheels turning freely to see if they turn without resistance. Made the same test with the pedal by removing the chain and turning the pedals and see if there is no resistance.
  3. GREASE YOUR CHAIN: As simple as it sounds, a well lubricated chain can steal energy. Clean and lubricate it regularly.
  4. Y'A GMT KEKCHOSE rubbing?: If you have a brake shoe constantly glued to the rim of a wheel, you pedal hard for nothing! Again, turn your wheel to see if the brake shoes do not rub on the rim. Also check if the wheel is installed in the frame. A tire rubbing on the frame is also a huge power robber.
  5. THE POSITION OF SEAT: How many times I saw a guy pedaling with the knees that are going to the sides? Too often. That abyss knees and it's not the best way to pedal. Adjust your seat to the proper height. Place your heel on the pedal qui pointe vers le bas.
Maintaining your bike is more than just preserve it, it also helps make your trips more enjoyable. A bike is more fun to drive, the more you use.

Till next time.

Household Items Safe To Use As Lube

SURVIVING THE TOUR DE L'ILE DE MONTREAL MONTREAL CRITICAL MASS

For the third consecutive year, I participated in the Tour of the island of Montreal as a volunteer mechanic on the circuit. I have already worked as a mechanic in the relays for 5 years in the 90s, but I prefer this way to participate in the event. This year's edition was very nice compared to last year. The chosen route in 2006 was absolutely atrocious. One would think that the organizers were given the task of finding the worst streets of Montreal for an organized tour of potholes and railroad crossing!

Departure

This year the route chosen was perfect. This is only my humble opinion, but make a detour package in the small streets to a highway pleasing to the eye is not a simple thing with 30,000 cyclists in the ride. A path was clear and simple, I think, an excellent choice.

My lap Island

My challenge this year was twofold. First I drove for the first time without my faithful apprentice. My son was another activity that has prevented him from participating this year. My second challenge was to impose on me to ride in the Tour with a bike with one speed coaster brake, the brake pedal famous! Mission accomplished but with a few more lessons. A bicycle equipped with single rear wheel brake application to be poorly lit and not awake because you have to make an appointment to brake. It is not instantaneous the trick! With eyes wide open, I noticed some things.

My Bike

People are unconscious!

There I am very polite, PCQ is not what I meant! Well it's not for everyone either, but there were many who rolled in does not care about other cyclists. The fact that the street be closed to cars gives a false sense of security and people drive by changing the "way" without looking, decided to stop in the middle of the road or instantly pass from one side of the street to another without realizing the enormous train rider behind, beside and in front of them. This is without counting the idiots who decide to do the slalom at high speed in the rolling mass. My advice to you is to always rode ahead, behind or directly at side of another rider. Do you ever placed at an angle, placing you in the dead of the person before you. Always, but always look beside you before you pack it. If you bring your child with you to make the Tour, called them to ride in a straight line and not zigzagging. I saw a person collapsing to the ground before me following a maneuver of the kind executed by a young cyclist.

Keep your ears open

Volunteers on the course must sometimes give verbal guidance to cyclists in order to properly direct them, with you they speak. Listen carefully and follow the instructions.

Relays

I have no information you provide on the relays. I avoid them like the plague! Too many people and I do not want to wait in line half an hour for a Cossin for free. On the subject by cons I have an opinion on the first relay of the 2007 Tour. The first relay was located down a slope and there were volunteers who indicated that "Under the baton keep left, keep right to continue". Small detail, there were only 3 meters to take this decision while everyone was moving at a brisk pace! I ask the organizers on behalf of Heaven indications place well in advance next time.

Prepare your bike and your legs in advance.

It is important for you to repair and ride your bike a few weeks before the Tour. This will also help your legs. :) Do you not to add accessories or make major repairs on your bike the day before the Tour. Test your equipment well in advance. Bring with you the tubes, there is no guarantee that your mechanics will scale with them. By cons, he will gladly repair your flat tire.

The mechanics
Volunteers

Or rather bénévélos. Quite simply, without them no tour of the island. Congratulations to you all for a great job.

The Tour de l'Île de Montréal a fantastic event and very well-organized. You must attend at least once in your life. But remember, be careful and vigilant so that this day is an enjoyable experience from beginning to end. At the next
